Several British Members of Parliament are visiting the Palestinian Authority (PA) in an effort to win the release of British Broadcasting Corp. (BBC) reporter Alan Johnston, who was kidnapped almost three months ago. There has been no sign of his fate despite claims by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas that he is alive and well.

Legislator Emily Thornberry blamed poverty for setting the stage for the abduction, stating that "people have been falling back on their clans to protect them, and the thinking is that one of these large clans has got Alan Johnston."

One terrorist group has published a poll revealing almost unanimous support for executing Johnston.
