The security cabinet, led by Defense Minister Amir Peretz, is set to discuss ways to respond to the escalating Kassam rocket attacks being launched at Israel by Palestinian Authority terrorists in Gaza.
Intelligence and other security officers are expected to present information on the current situation in Gaza and various plans that have been formulated by the IDF to deal with the threat.
Although a number of different options were discussed at the regular weekly Sunday cabinet meeting, the general consensus was that no one wants to re-enter Gaza if it is possible to avoid it.
The western Negev was hit with three Kassams Sunday morning even as ministers met to decide how to deal with the attacks.
