Iranian President Arrives in United Arab Emirates
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived Sunday in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates for a two day visit. Ahmadinejad’s visit is the first by an Iranian head of state since the U.A.E., comprised of a group of Arab Peninsula sheikhdoms, was formed in 1971.
The U.A.E. sent its forces to liberate Kuwait from Iraqi invaders during the1990-91 Gulf War. U.S. President George Bush, father of the current American president, led a group of nations in the fight to free Kuwait from the Iraqi forces.
