Israel Investigating German Complaint on UNIFIL Patrols
Israel said it would investigate German complaint that IDF planes and ships were “interfering” with their patrol missions in Lebanon. The Germans are operating as part of the UNIFIL patrol force in Lebanon. Berlin has complained of at least three such incidents in recent weeks.
In the latest incident last week, the Germans said that Israel Air Force planes “buzzed” a German Navy ships on patrol off the coast of Lebanon, flying low and passing back and forth several times. In two other incidents, Israeli ships confronted German and Swedish ships off the Lebanese coast, but failed to identify themselves.
