Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni met secretly with a top IDF officer during the course of the Lebanon war, because she suspected the prime minister was hiding important information from her.

According to Friday's Maariv, Livni received very sensitive military intelligence information after meeting the officer. It may be that this is what caused her to change her mind about the war. She had supported the war until its third day, then started arguing for finding a "diplomatic solution."
