Officer to be Dismissed for Jabbing Anarchist
The commander of the central Hevron regiment, Col. Yehuda Fuchs, has recommended that Cpt. Y., a reservist, be dismissed from his command post. Cpt. Y.'s transgression: he forcefully poked an anarchist enemy collaborator in the chest with the muzzle of his gun.
The incident occurred recently near the Arab settlement of Samu'a and was captured on videotape. About 150 anarchist collaborators and Arabs used force to dismantle an IDF roadblock. A handful of IDF soldiers on the scene asked for reinforcement from the police, Border Police and Civil Administration, but this reinforcement failed to arrive. At a certain point Arabs started driving through the dismantled roadblock in jeeps, unchecked.
IDF soldiers stepped in and pushed the collaborators back angrily. The captain shoved his rifle butt into the chest of one of the collaborators, and the collaborator fell to the ground in pain. Israeli TV Channel 2 ran the story, siding with the Arabs.
