The veterinary department of Petach Tikva destroyed 1,250 kilograms, or approximately one ton, of meat on Thursday morning. City officials explained that the meat was manufactured in unsanitary conditions.
Police said that the meat was smuggled into the city from Arab villages in Judea and Samaria. The smugglers planned to sell it to stores and butchers’ shops in the area.
