The Israel-based research and development division of the Intel Corporation has created an updated Centrino processor for laptop computers.

According to Globes, the new platform includes upgraded chips for general performance, graphics, communications and power consumption.  

Intel is fighting for control of the chip manufacturing market; its current competitor is Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD).
