Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said he did not hesitate to go to war, because he was told by former IDF Chief of Staff Dan Halutz that the army was prepared and ready to go.
“Lt.-Gen. Halutz told me, ‘You have a quality army, one that is strong and ready to do its job.’ I had no way to know that this was not the case,” the Prime Minister testified.
Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, he added, participated in every step of the decision-making process. “There is no way that she was not involved,” he said.
