Defense Minister Amir Peretz criticized IDF reserves soldiers on Wednesday for clashing with extreme-left activists near Hevron. The activists tried to remove a checkpoint and block a road, and argue that the soldiers used excessive force to stop them.

Peretz called the incident “abnormal and very serious,” and said that it was inappropriate for “the norms expected from IDF soldiers.” In a talk with IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi, Peretz said the incident would be investigated.
