Temple Mount Faithful asks to Cancel ‘Peace Now’ Event (IsraelNN.com) The Temple Mount Faithful organization has filed a plea to the Supreme Court, asking it to cancel an upcoming conference planned by the extreme-left group Peace Now. Peace Now is planning to hold an “alternative Jerusalem Day” over the weekend, in place of traditional Jerusalem Day celebrations.
Members of the Temple Mount Faithful explained that Peace Now plans to call for Jerusalem to be split between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. That would be in violation of the Basic Law that defines Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city, they said. This year’s Jerusalem Day will mark 40 years since the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967. ![]() © A7 Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
