MK Rivlin Seeks Rabbi Yosef's Support for President

(IsraelNN.com) Knesset Member Reuven Rivlin (Likud), former Knesset Speaker, visited Shas spiritual leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef Wednesday morning in an effort to secure his support for President. The term of Moshe Katzav, who has suspended himself from duties, expires in July.
The other probable candidates at this time are Vice Prime Minister Shimon Peres and Labor MK Collette Avital. Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik is substituting for Katzav during his suspension. Peres is not an official candidate but has said he will run.
