Former American President Jimmy Carter, whose recent book largely blames Israel for the conflict with the Palestinian Authority (PA), now is raising funds for students to visit the PA. He announced the idea while publicizing the book, Palestine: Peace not Apartheid.

"If you take me up on it, I'll raise the funds to pay for your trip" Carter told University of California students. The offer specifically targeted Jewish and Arab students. Carter repeated his claim that Israel is "persecuting horribly" PA Arabs.
