50 people were taken to hospital in the course of Lag Ba'Omer celebrations at Meron, in northern Israel. Magen David Adom crews treated over 300 people in the past 24 hours – a 50% rise compared to last year.

The rise is apprently a result of the very hot weather and crowded conditions at the site of Shimon Bar Yochai's grave.
