Legal Setback for Peace House Residents

(IsraelNN.com) The head of the Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria has rejected a petition filed by Hevron's Jewish residents, who claimed that the order to leave the house is discriminatory. "The use of the order with regard to an asset that was, without a doubt, purchased in full, does not fit its purpose," claimed the Jewish residents in their document. However, Brigadier General Yoav "Poli" Mordechai decided to reject the appeal.

Hevron's Jewish residents refuse to accept the decision and will apparently turn to an appeals committee. The subject is scheduled to come up before the Knesset Internal Affairs Committee on Wednesday. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert says the legal situation must be clear before Defense Minister Amir Peretz goes ahead with his order to evict the residents for moving in without his permission.
