Attorney General Menachem Mazuz has instructed Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann to rescind the appointments of 15 rabbinical court judges (dayanim) made last month by the Committee for Appointment of Rabbinical Court Judges.
Mazuz stated that the appointees "do not meet the conditions required."
12 of the 15 judges appointed are hareidi-religious. Their appointment was met with protest from the Zionist-religious camp and from women's lobbyists.
