School Strike in South Set for Monday

(IsraelNN.com) Intermediate and high schools in the south of Israel will not hold classes on Monday due to a strike by the Secondary School Teachers Union, according to Army Radio. Extra-curricular activities, tutoring and field trips will also be cancelled as teachers continue their protest against the lack of progress in contract talks with the government.

Affected schools in the region, in alphabetical order include:
Arad, Arara, the Arava, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Be’er Sheva, Be’er Tuvia, Bnei Shimon, Dimona, Eilat, the Eilat mountains, Eshkol, Hevron, Horeh, Kiryat Gat, Kiryat Malachi, Kuseifa, Lachish, Lakiya, Lehavim, Meitar, Merhavim, Mitzpe Ramon, Mt. Hevron, Netivot, Ofakim, Omer, Rahat, Ramat Negev, Sde Boker, Segev Shalom, Sha’ar HaNegev, Shapir, Tel Sheva, Yeruham and Yoav.
