The Al Aksa Martyrs’ Brigades terrorist organization has claimed responsibility for Sunday morning’s driveby shooting, near the Samarian Jewish community of Nili, which left an Israeli security guard critically wounded.

The guard was sitting in a gasoline truck next to the driver when three or four Palestinian Authority terrorists in car overtook the Israeli vehicle, spraying it with bullets. The driver was unhurt and raced to the Na’alim checkpoint with the victim, who was immediately evacuated to Tel Hashomer hospital in Tel Aviv.

Security sources said an investigation is underway to determine whether the same terror cell was responsible for a deadly attack in the same area three weeks ago. Four Israelis were murdered in that attack.

The Al Aksa Martys Brigades terrorist group is a division of PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah faction.
