Kadima Fears Labor May Topple Government

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Kadima leaders fear that the Labor party may pull out of the government before its members vote on a party leader in the June primaries. Prime Minister Olmert this week survived a mini-rebellion from within his own party, but a pull-out of Labor from the coalition would leave him without a majority in the Knesset.

Labor secretary Eitan Cabel, who quit as minister this week, said that the Central Committee will meet in 10 days and vote on whether to stay in or leave the coalition, unless someone replaces Prime Minister Olmert.
