Growing anarchy in the Gaza region has caused 1,065 injuries or deaths in the first three months of 2007, according to a human rights group based in the Palestinian Authority (PA).

It cited armed clashes between Hamas and Fatah militias, family feuds and Muslim attacks on churches and Internet cafes as the main sources of the violence. The human rights group also noted "cruel and inhuman treatment inflicted on persons" who were kidnapped by terrorists.
