The Tanach (Hebrew Bible) of Irgun fighter Meir Feinstein will be returned to his nephew Eliezer Feinstein in a ceremony on Thursday. The Tanach was given by Feinstein to his prison guard, Thomas Henry Goodwin, before he and his cellmate, Moshe Barazani, committed suicide to spare themselves the gallows.

The Tanach is being returned by Goowin’s son Dennis in the presence of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. The Tanach will be displayed at the Museum of Underground Prisoners at Jerusalem’s Russian Compound, originally the British prison where the two men took their lives.
