IDF soldiers shot an Arab man in northern Gaza on Monday after he approached the security fence in a suspicious manner. Soldiers called for the man to stop, and shot at his lower body when he continued. The man was wounded in his leg, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Local Arabs argued that the man is mentally retarded, and did not understand what was happening. They did not explain his presence near the security fence.
