The Cabinet Sunday morning authorized Defense Minister Amir Peretz to take full responsibility for the Home Front, which is responsibile for emergency situations. The Home Front Command and the government have been severely criticized for the lack of preparation in last summer's Hizbullah rocket attacks on Israel.



The Defense Minister will consult with other ministries and was told to submit recommendations to the Cabinet in 45 days.
