Sderot Welfare Office to be Fortified
The government on Sunday morning approved funding to renovate and fortify the Welfare Office in the western Negev city of Sderot against Kassam rocket attacks.
Prime Minister Ehud Olmert approved a sum of NIS 2 million for the project during the weekly cabinet meeting.
Sderot has been hit by hundreds of Kassam rockets since a so-called “ceasefire” agreement with Gaza went into effect on November 26. Under the terms of the agreement, Israel withdrew its troops from Gaza in exchange for terrorist groups ending their rocket attacks from Gaza against Jewish communities in southern Israel.
