Gag Order on Bishara Partially Lifted (update)

(IsraelNN.com) The Petah Tikvah Magistrate’s Court partially lifted a gag order Sunday that has until now prevented media from reporting on a probe into the affairs of Arab Knesset Member Azmi Bishara, head of the anti-Zionist Arab party, Balad, according to the Ynet news service. Bishara has repeatedly traveled to enemy countries where he has met with their leaders and announced support for their terrorist activities against the Jewish State.

The Court ruled that the media may now report the existence of the probe, but not its substance. The Balad party has also been demanding that authorities lift the gag order, which its members claim is a cover-up on a conspiracy against the MK.

Bishara left Israel three weeks ago and there is speculation that he does not intend to return. He reportedly signed a letter of resignation from his position as Chairman of the party and and as a Member of Knesset.
