Transportation Minister and former Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz on Sunday slammed Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s public willingness to meet for talks with Arab League representatives.

Mofaz said at a Kadima faction meeting in Jerusalem that the Arab League is an extremist organization with which the Israeli government should not negotiate. Minister Meir Sheetrit supported Olmert’s position; however, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni was more guarded in her approval, stating that Israel should limit its talks with Arab League members who are considered to be moderate nations.
