Olmert: ‘Positive Aspects’ to 2002 Arab Peace Plan (IsraelNN.com) Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said at the weekly Sunday morning cabinet meeting that the 2002 Arab peace plan has “positive aspects” that should be considered by Israel.
“Israel will make every effort to find a final solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” he said. “There are positive aspects to the Saudi initiative. I said that we were willing to talk with any representative of Arab States. I would like to hear their initiatives, any ideas they have, just as they would hear my ideas.” The 2002 Arab peace plan calls for the transfer of all lands restored to Israel during the 1967 Six Day War, including Judea, Samaria, the Golan Heights and half of Jerusalem, to the Palestinian Authority. It also calls for Israel to allow Arabs who moved away from the Jewish State in 1948, as well as their millions of descendants, to immigrate to pre-1967 Israel. ![]() Sign up to receive the Daily Israel Report by email (Free) © IsraelNN Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
