The Nazareth newspaper As-Sinara reports that Balad party Knesset Member Azmi Bishara will resign from the parliament in the next few days. The outspoken critic of Israel has left the country and does not intend to return because of an affair that is under a gag order. Bishara has been criticized for a number of visits to countries officially at war with Israel.
The Kol Rinah news service reports that Hevron activist Itamar Ben-Gvir has asked Attorney General Menahem Mazuz to issue arrest warrants and requests for Bishara's extradition to Israel. Ben-Gvir says Bishara has served the enemy and has open criminal files against him in Israel, and that his escape harms Israel's rule of law.
