Hirschson Questioned for the Third Time

(IsraelNN.com) Finance Minister Avraham Hirschson was question by police in Lod for the third time on Thursday morning. He is suspected of stealing money from organizations connected to the Histadrut National Labor Federation, as well as fraud, breach of trust, and creating false records.
Police suspect Hirschson, a former Histadrut head, of receiving large amounts of money which were used to cover illegal gambling debts and to pay for a political campaign. Police said they have evidence to back up their claims, and have begun to investigate other Histadrut officials as well. Several charitable organizations connected to the Histadrut were used to transfer money to top officials, they said, including the March of the Living, a fund for needy students, and the Yovelim pension fund.
