Pelosi Spoke with Saudi King after Meeting with Assad

Democratic Congressional leader Nancy Pelosi met with King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia Wednesday night after her visit with Syrian President Bashar Assad. The meeting took place at the king's ranch outside of the capital.

Details of the discussions were not released, but Arab media reported they talked about the Arab League summit last week, where the 22 Arab nations re-endorsed the Saudi 2002 peace initiative.

The Bush administration has strongly condemned Pelosi, who is Speaker of the House of Representatives for "sending mixed signals" by visiting Syria, which is defined as a country supporting terrorism and which has been boycotted by the Bush administration.
