Over the Passover holiday, Iran posted photos of the British sailors captured two weeks ago by the government’s Revolutionary Guards on the website of the Fars News Agency.  The sailors are shown sitting on a Persian carpet, smiling and chatting, wearing track suits of various colors, according to a report by the Associated Press.

Two sailors playing chess are shown in a second photo and other sailors, also sitting on a carpet, are shown in a third. Included in one of the photos is the sole female sailor among the 15 in the group.

The caption to the photos reads: “British sailors are chatting and eating fruit, drinking coffee and playing chess. It seems that the sailors are satisfied with their situation, in which they are enjoying good conditions instead of working in a hard situation in the Persian Gulf.”  The British Foreign Office commented that it was not clear whether the photos were new.
