As part of a new project, high school students will volunteer to help prepare and maintain the IDF's emergency stores for wartime (the yamachim). The project will enable any student from grades 9-12 to participate in the work of replenishing and maintaining the IDF's emergency storage facilities. The volunteers will serve five day stints in specific storage sites, in groups of several dozen.

The project is an initiative of the Personnel Department in the IDF's Ground Arm and of the IDF's Education and Youth Corps.
