Maj.-Gen. (res.) Yossi Peled said on Thursday that Israel's ground forces needed training, and fast: "I'm not sure we have a lot of time," he said.
Peled said the IDF had to regain its ability to fight and win. "The feeling of failure in the last war stems from two things," he explained. "the way things were managed, and the way the army was neglected in the past few years."
Peled, a Holocaust survivor, was GOC Northern Command from 1986 to 1991.
