The Knesset plenum Wednesday voted to approve the new round of ministerial appointments. Minister Yitzhak Herzog (Labor) is now Welfare Minister and Minister Raleb Majadle (Labor) is the Minister of Science, Culture and Sport. In addition, the Knesset approved the appointment of MK Yitzhak Aharonovich (Yisrael Beiteinu) to Minister of Tourism, in place of Herzog.
Aharonovich was sworn in as minister on the Knesset podium.
The ministerial appointments were decided upon by the government several weeks ago and included the appointment of MK Stas Misezhnikov (Yisrael Beiteinu) to head the Knesset's Finance Committee. However, MK Yakov Litzman, the previous head of the Finance Committee, refused to resign. This morning, the committee voted him out of office, making the round of appointments possible.
