Half of Jews Feel Fear When Hearing Arabic
50% of the Jews in Israel feel fear when they hear someone speaking Arabic, according to a survey carried out for the International Day Against Racism. Only 39% of the Jews answered this way to the same question in 2005.
31% of the participants surveyed said they "felt hatred" when they heard Arabic spoken, up from 17.5% two years ago.
The survey was ordered by the Center for Fighting Racism, which sees the results as reflecting racist attitudes.
