Minister of Defense Amir Peretz told journalists Tuesday evening that the nationwide emergency services exercise, while "meaningful," does not mean Israel is expecting war to break out.

Peretz was quoted as saying that "as part of the new perception, we are acting upon our recommendations following the Lebanon war, in the exercise as well."

Peretz spoke in Netanya, during a simulation of a rocket attack on an educational institution.
