New District Court to be Housed in Petah Tikva

Justice Minister Daniel Friedmann announced Tuesday that a new district court would be built in the central area of Israel, to alleviate pressure on the District Court of Tel Aviv. The new court will be housed temporarily in Petah Tikva, which adjoins Tel Aviv.

Friedmann has also decided that the Repossession Bureau which currently operates out of the Tel Aviv Court Hall will be moved to a different structure, and the space thus freed will free be used for additional courtrooms and judges' chambers.

New courts will also be built in Ashkelon and Afula, and the court building in Ashdod will be enlarged.
