The Hamas-Fatah unity control of the Palestinian Authority has been made official, and the group will hold its first meeting under the new leadership on Sunday. PA officials will meet in Gaza and in Ramallah.

The Hamas and Fatah terrorist groups agreed to joint control of the PA in order to stem increasing violence between their followers and in an attempt to end an international boycott of the PA. While internecine violence continues, the boycott is weakening, with Norway officially announcing support of the new PA on Saturday.
