Israeli students from a Tel Aviv high school vandalized a hotel room while on a school trip to Poland. Two of the students, who were in Warsaw to visit concentration camps, drank vodka in their hotel room and became extremely intoxicated. The two left vomit and excrement in the hotel room, and left the next morning without notifying hotel staff of the problem. The damage to the room was estimated at $1,700.
Meir Gross, a trip leader, said Friday that students who are unable to behave properly in Israel should not be allowed on the trip to Poland. According to Gross, students who engage in inappropriate behavior and show a lack of culture will be unable to handle the things they see in Poland. Their response may be harmful to themselves or others, and so they should not be allowed to participate in the school trip.
