President Moshe Katzav has established a charitable organization to help him fund his lawyers’ fees. Katzav has turned to wealthy Persian Jews in the United States and asked for donations, which will be tax-free.



Katzav has been temporarily suspended from his duties after being accused of multiple crimes, including sexual harassment and rape. His lawyers say they plan to argue that evidence in the case was gathered illegally.
