Lieberman: Establish a National Emergency Government
(IsraelNN.com) Minister of Strategic Affairs Avigdor Lieberman said Thursday that Israel should form a national emergency government. The emergency government is necessary, he said, in response to Thursday’s announcement by the Fatah and Hamas terrorist groups that they have agreed to joint control of the Palestinian Authority. The emergency government should include the Zionist parties, Lieberman said.
Israel has refused to recognize the new unity PA, which claims in its platform that violence against Israel is a “legitimate right.” However, the international community has already shown willingness to cooperate with PA officials, despite the PA’s refusal to abide by any of the terms set by the International Quartet.
