Israeli officials expressed disappointment at the Palestinian Authority’s new political platform, calling it “a giant step backwards.” The new platform was agreed upon by both the Fatah and Hamas terrorist groups, which have agreed to share control of the PA.

The platform, which is published on multiple Hamas websites, claims that violence against Israel is “the legitimate right” of the PA. It states that violence will continue until Israel cedes all territory claimed by the PA and agrees to the “right of return,” under which any Arab who ever lived in Israel and all of his or her descendants would be qualified for immediate and unconditional Israeli citizenship.
