Parents of soldiers who fell in the war against Hizbullah last summer have re-worded their sons' gravestones to read "Fell in the War in Southern Lebanon." The government had written on the tombstones "Fell in Lebanon," but Defense Minister Amir Peretz said several months ago he would see to it that the war would be named so that the memory of the soldiers could be honored appropriately.
Parents of the fallen soldiers criticized the government for "dragging its feet" and failing to fulfill its promise even though the war ended almost eight months ago.
The parents also sent a letter of protest the Winograd Committee, which is investigating the management of the war.
