Taiwanese university students have established a Nazi movement called the National Socialism Association, aimed at national unity and the curbing of immigration. The group's web site features a Nazi swastika and that its members are those "who do not dislike Hitler."
Rafi Gamzo, director of the Israeli representative office in Taipei, termed the establishment of the group an "upsetting and worrisome phenomenon."
The founder of the group denied that it was anti-Jewish. A former Taipei university official said that people in Taiwan "don't really understand what Nazism is and that they are not really racist or anti-Jewish. They don't even know what it means."
