Agriculture Minister Shalom Simhon (Labor) proposed during a visit to the Israeli-Syrian border Tuesday that Syria give water to Druze farmers in the Golan Heights in return for their apples.

The farm ministry recently facilitated the shipment of 7,000 tons of apples to Syria at a low price, which the Israeli government subsidized.
