A recent poll revealed that only one percent of Israeli parents would like to have their child become a politician. In constrast, 29% said they would like their children to become engineers in the high-tech sector, and 12% said they would like their children to become accountants.



The poll also revealed strong support for science education. While 90% of those questioned viewed Israel’s level of scientific discovery as relatively high, 49% worried that science education in schools is insufficient. 44% said that science should be given top importance in elementary and high school curriculums.
