The former Iranian Deputy Defense Minister, Ali Riza Asgari, left Turkey and traveled to Europe under a new identity supplied to him by Western bodies, according to London based Arab newspaper "A-Shark il-Awsat."
A source in the Iranian government told the newspaper Asgari defected with military maps and documents containing details on the Iranian military and the connections between the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hizbullah, Islamic Jihad and Iraqi terror groups.
The Washington Post quotes a senior American source as confirming that Asgari is providing information to those bodies about Hizbullah and its connection to Iran.
