Six people died in a traffic accident near Lod late Wednesday night when a driver failed to stop for a red light. The velocity of the crash catapulted the vehicles several feet, leaving most of the victims trapped inside the mangled wreckage.



Rescue crews estimated that the dead were in their 30s or 40s. The death toll on Israeli roads since January 1 now stands at 77.
