Israel’s Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni met with Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt in Brussels on Monday in order to gain support for additional economic sanctions against Iran. Belgium heads the sanctions committee appointed by the UN Security Council.



Livni is expected to meet with EU foreign ministers later in the day. She has emphasized that the Iranian nuclear threat is not only against Israel, but has ramifications for the whole world.
