Israel Wants Saudi Peace Plan Fixed
Israel expects the Arab League to adopt an improved version of the Saudi Peace Plan in its upcoming summit. Israel is concerned primarily with the section regarding refugees, which was added to the Saudi plan in 2002, and which is interpreted as a demand for the "right of return" of Arabs who fled or were expelled from present day Israel.
Foreign Minister Livni told Channel 10 Thursday that the plan originally presented by Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah "was a positive one" in her eyes. The plan called for a return to pre-1967 borders and normalization and peace with the entire Arab world.
